How to Evaluate Phenotypes

There are many factors that go into deciding whether or not we continue growing a certain phenotype over another. These are the five that we ask you to help us evaluate during our HUNT!

Appearance

How frosty is it?

Trichomes are the tiny, glittery crystals on a cannabis bud that house all the delicious cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids that work together to create your cannabis experience

Is it vibrant and colorful?

Do you see brightly colored, curly little hairs(AKA pistils) on the flower?

Smell

Does it have a pungent aroma?

The best cannabis flower has a strong,

distinct, pungent, and pleasant aroma.

The “louder” the smell, the better!

Taste

How does it taste?

Just because cannabis flower smells amazing doesn’t mean it will taste amazing.

What flavors do you taste on inhale?

Are there any lingering flavors?

Effects

How does it make you feel?

Cannabis affects everyone differently — but people often share common experiences.

Do you feel more energized and alert after smoking this pheno, or more relaxed and lethargic? Take note of how you’re feeling before smoking, then check in at 5, 30, and 60 minutes after to get a full picture of this pheno’s effects.

Strength

It’s about more than just THC!

Research suggests that a lot more than THC goes into cannabis potency.

The Ensemble Effect is a theory that the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in a cannabis plant all work together to create your cannabis experience.
